Αναφέρεται γενικά σε όλους τους παλαιούς τίτλους diploma.
-Holders of an ETH diploma are therefore entitled to use the title of Master, without the need for any special confirmation, i.e. Master of Science ETH/MSc ETH.
However, we have to draw your attention to the following restrictions (cf. comment on the new Article 6a of the Bologna Directives):
-The title from the old system and the title of Master can only be used as alternatives, not both together. This means that the titles may not be included on the same document.
-A precise definition of the title (in English), however, should not be used because, although former courses of study were of the same level, they were often not entirely comparable in content with the new ones. This means that only the two titles listed above are allowed, but not for instance “Master of Science ETH in XXX
Engineering”.
Από ότι είδα πάντως το ETH προσφέρει 3ετές bachelor και 2ετή master σε όλα τα προγράμματα του δηλαδή έχει υιοθετήσει το σύστημα 3+2.

Assessment in all the compulsory subjects is by formal examination whereby 180 credit points, which correspond to the European Credit Transfer System, should be obtained. The bachelor degree course concludes upon completion of a thesis during the last semester. Successful students are awarded the title 'Bachelor of Science ETH'.

Graduate students must have 120 credit points (in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System) having successfully completed all the subjects chosen. A master thesis, carried out over a 16-week period, focuses on one of the specialised courses chosen.
Graduate students, who successfully complete the master degree programme, are awarded the title Master of Science ETH in Civil Engineering.

Το ETH απονέμει Bachelor 6 εξαμήνων και Master 3 ή 4 εξαμήνων. Υπάρχουν δύο είδη προγραμμάτων master στο ETH (σελ. 6):
1) Consecutive Master's Degree (είναι παρόμοιο με το Integrated Master's Degree)
2) Specialized Master's Degree
Οι φοιτητές στο ETH γίνονται από την αρχή δεκτοί τόσο στο Bachelor όσο και στο Consecutive Master χωρίς πρόσθετες απαιτήσεις (σελίδα 6).
Στην 4η γραμμή της 2ης παραγράφου της σελίδας 6 του οδηγού σπουδών γράφει:
"The Bachelor’s degree is not regarded as a professional qualification"
Με λίγα λόγια το Bachelor δεν αποδίδει επαγγελματικά δικαιώματα στον κάτοχό του.
Άλλωστε χαρακτηριστικό στοιχείο της διαδικασίας της Bologna είναι η αποσύνδεση ακαδημαϊκών τίτλων και επαγγελματικών δικαιωμάτων.
