Biodiversity in the Balance: Causes and Consequences, 9-10 November 2012

Registration fee: 40 Euros


What makes life on Earth so diverse? What threats does global biodiversity face? How does modern science map and assess the state of biodiversity, locally and globally? What implications could there be for human health, living standards and long-term survival? How effective are international efforts in addressing losses in biodiversity? Who should take responsibility?

These are just some of the crucial issues that that will be the focus of the 13th EMBL|EMBO Science and Society conference. The two-day conference will bring together biologists, ecologists, economists, social scientists, policy makers and students from all disciplines with members of the public to debate and discuss, in an accessible manner to all, the important areas of life science research.
